Reorder is not remove

Sorting changes the order of records, such as shortest to longest by page count. Filtering shows records that match a condition, such as category equals nature.
A filter should not delete the records it hides. Clear the filter to see the full collection again. Use the correct field type so numerical sorting does not accidentally behave like alphabetical sorting.
2 · Worked example
With page counts 8, 12 and 100, numerical ascending order is 8, 12, 100. Sorting text representations can behave differently in some tools.
3 · Your turn
A filter shows only nature books. Does that mean every other record should be deleted?
Check your answer
No. They are hidden by the view condition, not removed from the dataset.
4 · Apply your learning
Sort and filter an invented table, note the matching record count, then clear the filter and confirm the originals remain.
