Before you start · adult guidance
Computing is the curriculum subject name. KS1 expectations span Years 1 and 2; this is our Year 1 introduction. Stay with the child, use school-approved tools, and practise on a device as well as on paper. Never enter real passwords or personal information in exercises.
These are short sessions to revisit, not a one-day course. Follow the child's readiness and school teaching.
Teacher coverage map · what is introduced and what is still needed
The statutory programme covers KS1 (Years 1–2), not a prescribed separate Year 1 list. This is a proposed first-year sequence. Use the writing pad to draw, download a PNG, reopen that file and change it with adult help. Typed notes can be downloaded and reopened separately as TXT; they are not in the PNG and neither file is saved to the account. The robot lab on the instruction lessons lets children create, predict, run and debug a short movement program. Its program and trace are temporary; an adult observes the child's practical work. It is not a full animation tool. Reading an explanation or passing a quiz does not prove completion of those practical activities.
These are our reference keys, not official DfE numbering. Each link identifies a teaching introduction, not a completed curriculum requirement or assessed mastery.
